Nothing much new this week. My new handlebars and Mustang driver’s backrest should be arriving next week, along with a half cover for my bike. With all the rain this week I decided I needed to cover my bike, if only to protect by leather saddlebags and stuff.
I also had a complaint from the guard at the shipyard gate when I went in for work one morning this past week. It turns out the “Wal-Mart Special” running lights I put on the bike are REALLY bright. They currently come on when the headlight does, but I may need to put a separate switch on them.
I wanted to take a ride today, but had a lot of stuff going on. Finally I was able to squeeze one in late in the day, but it was a short one. Just kinda wandered around a bit, hitting some back roads that I’ve not been on before.
The route won’t mean much if you don’t know the area, but it crosses over Hiway 3, wanders around a bit near Bangor Sub Base, crosses back over Hiway 3 again, and wanders around south of Liberty Bay in Poulsbo.
Like I said, a short ride at about 22 miles, but it was good to get out without getting rained on. Hopefully the weekend will give me a couple more good days before the rain comes back in on Monday.
